Abu Dhabi: 870 prisoners to be released ahead of National Day

Abu Dhabi, Nov 29: UAE will be celebrating its 50th National Day on December 2. President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed ordered the release of 870 prisoners to mark the National Day according to the information given by the official WAM news agency.

The details of the prisoners and the nature of their crimes were not released by the authorities. In addition, all the debts and fines of the prisoners will be waived off.

It is customary to pardon and release prisoners in UAE during National Day and Islamic holidays like Eid Al-Adha.
