Mysuru: Siddaramaiah warns of 'bloody revolution' if Constitution is changed

Daijiworld Media Network – Mysuru (MS)

Mysuru, Nov 28: Former chief minister and current leader of opposition Siddaramaiah warned of serious implications if any attempt to change the Constitution was made.

"It is impossible to change the Constitution, but in case anyone does that, it will result in a bloody revolution,” he warned.

Siddaramaiah was speaking after releasing the book ‘Paurabandhu’ in a felicitation programme for former Mysuru mayor Narayan at the Senate auditorium of Manasagangothri on Saturday, November 27.

Siddaramaiah further said, "When a union minister from our state said that he is going to change the constitution, no one from BJP, including Prime Minister Modi opposed his statement. Dalit leaders like Ramesh Jigajinagi, Govinda Karajola and Narayanaswamy of BJP too did not utter a single word against the statement. They have joined BJP for their selfish motives and not for uplifting Dalits. This is what I said in Sindagi. But BJP twisted my statement and created controversy. I am committed to the statement I made even now.

"Dalit leaders in BJP are selfish. But former mayor Narayan was not selfish. Though he was from Congress, he fought against our own government in order to cancel the contract system of civic workers. He was a civic worker himself before entering politics. Though he became a mayor, he never forgot his roots. Even now if he approaches me, it will be for the betterment of civic workers. Salary of civic workers increased from Rs 7,000 to 17,000 only because of the fight from Narayan. If our party forms government once again, I will make 1.20 lac civic workers in the state as permanent employees," he said.

Former mayor Narayan and his wife Jayamma Narayan were felicitated on the occasion. The programme was presided over by vice chancellor of Mysuru university Prof G Hemantha Kumar. KPCC president R Dhruvanarayana, MLA L Nagendra, senior journalist K Shivakumar, H B Mallikarjunaswamy and Prof Muzaffar Asadi participated.

what is that communal congress did in 1976 during emergency? secularism wasn't in the constitution framed by Ambedkar and this word was forcefully put in the constitution. If pakistan after getting divided from our Hindusrastra can become islqmic republic then why the hell we need to be secular...we are hindu republic of hindustan. if congress had the rights to change constitution then BJP too has.
