Farmers' protests to continue till Parliament action: Tikait

Palghar (Maharashtra), Nov 19 (IANS): Shortly after Prime Minister Narendra Modi's epochal announcement repealing the three contentious farm laws, Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Rakesh Tikait on Friday said that the farmers' ongoing agitation will continue.

"The farmers' agitation will go on. We will wait till the day when the three farm laws are actually scrapped by Parliament," Tikait told mediapersons here.

Tikait was in Palghar to discuss certain issues with the farmer leaders here.

Besides, he said that there are a host of other farmers' issues which need to be discussed and he called upon the government "to discuss them" and expressed his readiness for talks.

Terming it as a decisive victory for the peasantry, Tikait said: "We dedicate it to the over 750 farmers who died, and to the tribals, workers, women and others who became a part of this historic movement.

"We are sitting on a heap of explosives, the agitation will keep them alive. All will have to act responsibly," he urged.

The BJP Govt has made a mockery of Parlimentary Democracy by passing these Farm Bills without any discussion in the house or taken any Parlimentary bodies into confidence. It is clear to the people of our country that these three farm bills was a dubious case of match fixing by Modi and Amit Shah for their crony capitalists friends like Ambani and Adani. The elaborate advance preparations , go downs, super markets, land acquisitions and other arrangements by industrialists Abmani and Adani are already in the public domain. These crony capitalists will then dominate the agriculture sector and render the farmers vulnerable and vanquished. . They finally passed it in the Rajya Sabha in a most deceitful manner through a voice vote just to please their Crony Capitalist friends at the expense of the Farmers. A Suit Boot Ki Sarkar that is totally insensitive, Callous, Indifferent, Arrogant and Autocratic that cares two hoots for the lower sections of our society including farmers. "Since Independence, it is for the first time that an arrogant government has come to power. It is not even looking at the pain and sufferings of farmers, forget about the common man,"If Agriculture is a State subject the why has the center passed Bills on Farm Laws on Agriculture. Over 600 farmers have lost their lives in the protest
