Mangaluru, Oct 20: Senior orthopaedic surgeon and pro-chancellor of Nitte University, Dr M Shantharam Shetty, inaugurated 'Habitat One54', an apartment project by Land Trades Builders & Developers here at Derebail on Wednesday October 20.

Speaking on the occasion, M Shantharam Shetty said, “A builder like Srinath Hebbar has a vision to develop Mangaluru with a lot of quality apartments. Meanwhile, we need to credit the staffs of Land Trades who have been taken care of by Srinath Hebbar. It is not about the individual but the people with whom you work to develop the institution.”

MUDA chairman Ravishankar Mijar said, “Land Trades are known for quality apartments at affordable cost. Mangaluru has developed vertically but we need to develop it horizontally as well. There is plan to rejuvenate 13 ponds in Mangaluru with green Mangaluru concept. MLAs have proposed to develop 63 gardens under city corporation limits among which 15 are already identified. I urge the builders to pick one road in a prime location so that they can plant saplings in the median to make it look even more beautiful.”

In his presidential address, mayor Premananda Shetty said, “The government has sanctioned Rs 790 crore to provide water 24x7 and the work is in progress. There will be more demand for water when Mangaluru is being developed vertically.”

Corporator Shashidhar Hegde and police commissioner N Shashi Kumar were also present.
