Bengaluru: Shivakumar upset by KPCC IT cell's 'thumb impression PM' remark

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Oct 19: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president, D K Shivakumar, has expressed his anguish and displeasure at a remark about Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, made by the IT cell of the KPCC in its tweet which he feels was uncivilised.

After a public outcry was noticed to the 'Hebbet Giraki (thumb impression person)' reference to PM, Narendra Modi, in the official handle of the KPCC, the Congress which had insulted the PM deleted all the tweets in which the reference to thumb impression was made, from its account. KPCC president, Shivakumar, has expressed regret about the derogatory way in which the tweet about the PM was worded.

"I have always believed that civil and parliamentary language is a non-negotiable prerequisite for political discourse. An uncivil tweet made by a novice social media manager through the KPCC official twitter handle is regretted and stands withdrawn," he stated in his tweet.

In a media statement, he said that instructions to immediately withdraw the tweet have been issued and stern action has been taken against those responsible for this lapse. He added that the Congress does not tolerate such blunders.

In a strong reaction to the said tweet, former chief minister, Yediyurappa, speaking at Chitradurga, pointed out that the entire world has accepted Modi as a great leader, and the use of the above reference by the Congress reflects its culture. He demanded an apology from the Congress leaders for this lapse.

The impugned tweet had said that Modi cannot utter a word without the help of the teleprompter and that in foreign affairs, he cannot do without a translator. The man who left education and sought alms does not know anything about finances. A liking for dresses, free campaign, and false speeches are his assets, it said. It also wanted to know how much kickback Modi received in Adani port drugs case, and how much did the Karnataka BJP leaders get in bus driver Umesh’s robbery. It said that with the increase of government revenue, poverty is rising in India.

The tweet said that Modi did not study even though the Congress built schools. It said that there were schemes for adult literacy but Modi chose not to study. The country is suffering because of Modi who is addicted to a lazy life by seeking alms, has turned Indians into beggars. It also said that if the Congress was in power, petro would have cost Rs 66 and diesel, Rs 55.

PM Modi has a BA in political science University of Delhi in 1978 and MA from Gujarat University in 1983 scoring 499 out of 800 which was considered as a good score at that time.

PM was born in 1950 and a person becomes a BA at the age of around 19 and MA at the age of around 21 ( correct me if I am wrong). 9-10 missing years... if it was 12 or 13 I would have thought of "Vanvaas" + "Agyatvaas". Like Pappu he is also fond of foreign trips, ( Atmanirbhar is for us mortals.)

DKSeee is very smart. At one end he himself prompting his party workers to tweet ill about PM and then he himself condemning it to build his image. Now people must be thinking that he is a statesman and a real gentleman polished politician like SM Krishna.

"The things that contributed most to Modijis victory" - anti corruption movement which was hijacked by RSS agent Anna Hazare. Even if Mithun Chakraborthy was PM candidate in 2014 they would have won. "Learn from Modiji how to campaign and articulate speeches" - Yes. How to say whatever comes to your mind and make people believe it, main requirement for a minister. Gutter gas, cloud radar,2 crore jobs,15 lakhs, campaigning against petrol price as CM when it touched 60 rupees and now doubling the price.Laal aankh to China but importing from China continues. "Does he take Pappus name at all? No ! Paaps begins and ends day with Modiji" - Making fun of dyslexic people to take potshots at Rahul Gandhi.Such a classy PM!

Dont shoot yourself on the foot. Firstly such remarks should not be made . If at all you make then do not apologize and look sheepish and cut a sorry figure. The Yuvaraj too made the same mistake last time and later apologized to RSS. Eventually he had to contest from Wayanad for survival in politics. All leaders are not that previleged or lucky.

Honestly, I felt that this guy had a chance in 2023 ! However, he has more enemies inside than outside. His recent gaffes, and the Press meet fiasco by Saleema and Ugra are a big dent. The ruling party too is in a mess, but with all this nonsense tweet wars, congress as usual us trying to snatch defeat from jaws of victory !

The abuses Modi has got from CONgress IT team handle is nothing in comparision to the choicest abuses and deep heart hatred by CONgress leaders. Siddu once called him "Narahantaka". At least for now, DiKeShi is calling truce is a thaw sign in relations with BJP leaders in state. Hope this rubs on the commentators too. They should refrain from personal abuse on PM

Mangalore!!! No way man!!!! The Congress has worked hard for the past 4 decades to consolidate the BJP position in this district. Its so strong that for sure DKS may be routed by some newcomer and end up rubbing more salts to his wounds. Ullala will be a safe and better bet.
