Fuel rates hiked again, prices rally to their highest ever levels across country

New Delhi, Oct 17 (IANS): Petrol and diesel prices on Sunday rallied to their highest ever levels across the country, as fuel rates were hiked again by 35 paise a litre.

The price of petrol in Delhi rose to its highest-ever level of Rs 105.84 a litre and Rs 111.77 per litre in Mumbai, according to a price notification of the state-owned fuel retailers. In Mumbai, diesel now comes for Rs 102.52 a litre; while in Delhi, it costs Rs 94.57.

This is the fourth straight day of 35 paise per litre increase in petrol and diesel prices. There was no change in rates on October 12 and 13.

Diesel prices have now increased 19 out of the last 23 days taking up its retail price by Rs 5.95 per litre in Delhi.

With diesel prices rising sharply, the fuel is now available at over Rs 100 a litre in several parts of the country. This dubious distinction was earlier available to petrol that had crossed Rs 100 a litre-mark across the country a few months earlier.

Petrol prices had maintained stability since September 5, but oil companies finally raised the pump prices last week. Petrol prices have also risen on 16 of the previous 19 days taking up its pump price by Rs 4.65 per litre.

OMCs had preferred to maintain their watch prices on the global oil situation before making any revision in prices. This is the reason why petrol prices were not revised for the last three weeks. But extreme volatility in the global oil price movement has now pushed OMCs to effect the increase.

Crude price has been on a surge rising over three year high level of over $ 84.6 a barrel now. Since September 5, when both petrol and diesel prices were revised, the price of petrol and diesel in the international market is higher by around $9-10 per barrel as compared to average prices during August.

What a master stroke by Modiji....!! At this rate common man wont be able to afford anything and hence slowly the society will be free from the POOR AND UNDERPRIVILEGED...! Thus slowly India will be a developed nation with only the rich and the powerful...I am sure this is done by BJP for the development of our country (LOL). Dont be an anti national by questioning the government. I am FULL FOR this MASTER STROKE of increasing price for everything.... WHA MODIJI WHA.....!!!!

These kinds of increases are not justified coz the international market oil barrel price is still USD 85 / barrel. In early 2014 it was reached USD 125 per barrel so no way the current government tell this excuse always. People who have little commonsense knows International market oil price decreased comparing to early 2014. Government should look into this matter seriously such price hike making a dent in our countries growth.

Not 25 years for Battery Vehicles roll out with full force....maximum 5 years ..... Watch in 2025.... 80% of NEW Vehicles, Scooters, Cars, Trucks and Buses will be battery operated... Currently running Petrol / Diesel operated Vehicles may last maximum 10-20 years....then OPEC will close door... Mucchida Bagilu.... Real problem in Crude oil now....USA is top producer of Crude oil in the world today, Second is Russia and Third is Saudi Arabia.... Most of the Crude US uses for domestic consumption and export a small portion to other countries including INDIA.... Due to Special Crude extraction done in US called Fracking and Very high pollution control standards in US, Crude oil extraction cost in US is $ 45 per Barrel...Where same is less than $ 10 in most GCC Countries...So US is doing a tightrope walk...It does not want Crude oil prices to come down below $ 45 per barrel ....and does not want Crude oil prices go beyond $ 60 per barrel .... So it is a tight rope walk about Battery operated Vehicles for US....'Haavu Sayabaradu....Kolu Muriyabardu'.....But nobody can stop electric Vehicles from rolling with full FORCE...including US...SOON... ...Tak...Takk...

More than 2 million abandoned but unplugged gas wells in the USA belching out millions of tons of methane into atmosphere for decades have been major contributor towards global warming as methane (CH4) is 84 times more potent than CO2 when it comes to heat retention and hence global warming. https://www.google.co.in/amp/s/www.forbes.com/sites/energyinnovation/2020/09/21/plugging-abandoned-wells-the-green-new-deal-jobs-plan-republicans-and-democrats-love/amp/

If we have 2 million uncapped oil wells retired since last 100 years in US.... leaking methane...for sure we should plug them....paying $ 450 Billion ...worth doing it.....When US can spend 2000 Billion in Afghanistan in 20 years to pop up Women's rights....and to pop up corrupt Karazai and Ghani regimes ....why not spend a quarter of that amount for this noble cause???... ...Tak...Takk...

This is what happens when countries like India have to depend on oil imports; they have to pay the world prices set by oil cartels. When will they learn to use alternative energy, such as solar power, electric cars, coal (at least as a temporary measure for dual fuel operations), etc., that can offset prices in world markets. Car driving should be minimized to essential tasks only, and travel by public transit should be encouraged with "green" vehicles. Hydrogen power can be used. Where are our scientists and engineers who will invent alternatives to petrol.

These Crude oil producing cartels are shooting their own feet by jacking Crude oil price beyond $ 60 per barrel ...which is a reasonable price for producers and consumers...
