Mangaluru: Custom officials seize gold worth over Rs 17 lac at international airport

Mangaluru, Oct 12: Customs officials at the international airport in the city seized gold worth Rs 17.54 lac on Tuesday October 12.

A man of Kasargod origin was taken into custody in this connection. He had come by an Air India Express flight from Dubai on Tuesday. On checking, Rs 17.54 lac worth pure gold weighing 364 gram was found. It was mixed with gum and hid in a brown coloured sheet. The sheet was kept between the two layers of the trolley.
