As Mangaluru Dasara begins, Janardhan Poojary stresses on following Covid guidelines

Mangaluru, Oct 10: Former union minister B Janardhan Poojary on Sunday October 10 inaugurated Mangaluru 'Dasara Mahostava' at Kudroli Sri Gokarnatheshwara Kshetra here.

Addressing the gathering, Poojary said, "Devotees who visit the temple should strictly adhere to the Covid-19 guidelines. The devotees have adhered to the guidelines so far, but even in future, they should have the 'Darshan' of deity while following the safety guidelines strictly.

"Last year, though people suffered a blow due to coronavirus, they did not lose morale. Even this time people should face the pandemic very confidently," he added.

Speaking on the state of his health, the veteran Congress leader said, "Though my condition is not stable, I visited the temple and offered prayers to the deity. May God bless everyone."

It may be mentioned here that Janardhan Poojary played a key role in the renovation of the temple.

MLA D Vedavyas Kamath, MLA UT Khader, MLA Umanath Kotian, MLC Harish Kumar, Mayor Premanand Shetty, former MLC Ivan D'Souza, president of Kudroli Gokarnatheshwara Kshetra H S Sairam, vice-president Urmila Ramesh Kumar, secretary B Madhava Suvarana, treasurer Padmaraj R, trustees Ravishankar Mijar, K Maheshchandra, M Shekar Poojary, Jagadeep Suvarana, temple development committee president Devendra Poojary, vice-president Dr Anusuya B T Salian, vice-president Dr B G Suvarana, Radhakrishna, Sooryakantha J Suvarna, Chandan Das, Kishor Dandekeri, Mumbai Billawa Association president Harish G Amin, former mayor Shashidhar Hegde, and others were present.

State minister Kota Srinivas Poojary visited the temple and offered prayers.

The 10-day Mangaluru Dasara celebrations were inaugurated on October 7 at Kudroli temple.
