Moodbidri: Police arrest two for waylaying car, disrespecting women

Moodbidri, Oct 9: In another incident of moral policing, police arrested two people for waylaying a car and disrespecting two girls for travelling with a couple from different faith in the outskirts of Moodbidri on Saturday October 9.

The accused are Samhithraj (36) and Sandeep Poojary (34). Police have registered cases under sections 354, 153a, 504, 506 of the IPC.

The incident took place at around 11 am on Saturday. Two girls boarded a car occupied by a husband and wife belonging to a different community. Nearly, six to eight people waylaid their vehicle in the outskirts of Moodbidri and questioned the presence of girls in the car and abused them.

It is said that the man who was driving the car and his wife, and two girls are from Karkala taluk of Udupi district. The husband and wife and two girls were from two different faiths.

These goons are smiling like they've done a great job. These people should prioritise their family needs before poking nose in others lives. Their parents struggle all their life to look after them, they won't provide basic things in their households because they're very much occupied in moral policing rather than work and spend time with family. They need to take a taxi...? I guess you do not talk or deal with people of other faith! What about driver if he belongs to other religion in a taxi/ auto/ public transport?
