Mangaluru, Oct 3: City cyber crime police arrested Dr Kondoor Sudhir Kumar, lecturer of Acharya Nagarjuna university of Andhra Pradesh on the accusation of mental harassment of a girl PhD student.
A girl student was doing PhD under the guidance of a female lecturer of a private college in the city. She got acquainted with Dr Sudhir Kumar Kondoor. He pressured the student to nominate him as the guide. The student agreed and sent his details to the university. However, the university rejected the request of the student saying that Dr Sudhir does not have the eligibility.
Dr Sudhir started harassing the girl student and her family after his guide position was denied by the university for lack of eligibility. He edited the photo of the girl student without her knowledge and posted it on social media as per the accusation made by the family members of the girl student with the cyber crime police station on March 10, 2021.
The police investigated the matter, arrested the accused and produced him to a court in Andhra Pradesh. He is released on conditional bail now.
