Mangaluru, Sep 21: Police constables working at city North police station Shankar and Sathish were felicitated by police commissioner N Shashi Kumar for their kind gesture of cleaning the road spilled with
engine oil.

The cops were seen cleaning the road putting sand and clearing the engine oil which was spilled at PVS junction.

The duo used broom sticks to clean the road to avoid accidents after they witnessed a two-wheeler skidding due to the presence of engine oil on the road.

The video of the cops cleaning the road was circulated on the social media. The gesture of the duo was widely appreciated by public.

Public is wondeting where is PWD?? Our famed Public Works Department ? Doing Police Duty? The police should have caught those responsible for the Oil Spill and made them clean the road at least... You honour your personnel for such acts and this will a trend setter.. Don't do all this to hog pubilicity... This media coverage only raises eyebrows... There are so many NGOs now associated with Swatch Bharat Abhiyaan... Got my point?

This is not policeman's job, they should have contacted the corporation and the sweepers should have cleaned the place. What happens when vehicle's parked on footpath the police constable cannot do anything only wait for a inspector. In the above case why didn't he wait for a inspector.

It's like chosing between the better of two evils. Both of the dominant parties are bad. If we're so cynical about everything its hard to get through life. You're raising your voice, thats good but resorting to name calling and gaslighting doesn't do anything. I hope you find peace. :) They did a good dead, publicity is just an incentive for the other cops to do good aswell. Everything doesn't have an agenda, Kajuma
