Kadaba: Accused who vandalised Ganapati Katte at Udane arrested

Kadaba, Sep 12: Uppinangady police have arrested the miscreant who vandalized the Ganapati Katte at Udane in the taluk.

Ravindra Kumar, a native of Bihar is the accused, who is in police custody.

On Friday September 10, Ganeshotsava was held in a simple manner at Udane Ganapati Katte. In the evening the members of the Ganeshotsava committee had immersed the idol and had gone back to their homes.

Later in the night accused Ravindra cut the plantain saplings that were used to decorate the katte. He also smashed stones against the steps of the katte and damaged them.

It is said that the accused is seen loafing around in Udane and had earlier hurled stones at an auto rickshaw driver also.
