Bengaluru, Aug 23: Even though the state education department has decided to conduct physical classes for standards 9 to 12 in the state beginning Monday August 23, some private schools have decided to continue with online classes which they have already been conducting.

These school managements have decided to continue with online classes till permission is given to hold physical classes for all. Some other schools plan to hold physical classes or online classes depending on the wishes of the parents of the students. A member of Karnataka State Private Schools Managements Federation noted that the government has not made holding of physical classes compulsory. "It is difficult to hold both online and physical classes simultaneously. Therefore, depending on the liking of the parents, either online or physical classes will be conducted," he added.

Most of the schools including CBSE and ICSE schools in rural areas are likely to switch over to physical classes on Monday. But in urban areas, the students have already been accustomed to online classes. Even the parents are hesitating to send their children to schools, a member of the federation stated.

M Srinivasan, president of the Managements of Independent CBSE Schools Association, said that it is hard to hold both online and physical classes together and therefore schools will take a decision. He clarified that the organization has not issued any specific instructions to the school management on this issue.
