Riyadh: Aviation authority links boarding passes with health app

Daijiworld Media Network - Riyadh

Riyadh, Jun 21: The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) announced that boarding passes for domestic flights for all national airlines would be issued with the health status in the Tawakkalna app.

Passengers will receive the boarding passes electronically whose status in the app is shown to be 'immune', 'immune by first dose', 'immune by recovery' or 'no record of infection'.

The successful linking of boarding passes to the health status app is a result of the cooperation with government agencies namely - the Presidency of State Security, the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority, and the Health Ministry — and with national airlines.

The Tawakkalna app was launched last year to help track Covid infections. Various updates have been made since then to include additional information on vaccination and infection status reports. It also functions as a Covid-19 passport.
