Downward trend continues as Karnataka records 7,810 new corona cases

Bengaluru, Jun 13: Karnataka on Sunday June 13 continued to see a decline in the number of new coronavirus cases, with the state recording 7,810 new infections, one of the lowest single-day tallies since the second wave soared in April.

As per the bulletin released by the state health department, the active cases in the state stand at 1,80,835. Bengaluru Urban's single-day tally has come down to 1,348 new cases.

As many as 125 deaths due to coronavirus were reported in the state on Sunday, with Bengaluru Urban recording 23 deaths, Mysuru 25 and Belagavi 9. With this, the toll so far has risen to 32,913.

The state recorded 18,648 discharges from hospitals, taking the total discharges so far to 25,51,365

So far, Karnataka has seen 27,65,134 positive cases since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.

The positivity rate for the day has dropped to 6.02%, while the case fatality rate for the day is 1.60%.

As many as 1,69,12,183 people have received vaccination so far.
