Bengaluru, May 16: Karnataka on Monday, May 17 registered 38,603 fresh coronavirus cases.
As per the bulletin released by the state health department, the active cases in the state rose to 6,03,639. Bengaluru Urban reported 13,338 cases in a single day.
As many as 476 deaths due to coronavirus were reported on Monday, with Bengaluru Urban recording 239 deaths and Ballari 17. With this, the toll so far has risen to 22,313.
The state recorded 34,635 discharges from hospitals, taking the total discharges so far to 16,16,092.
So far, Karnataka has seen 22,42,065 positive cases since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.
The positivity rate for the day stands at 39.70%, while the case fatality rate for the day is 1.23%.
As many as 1,12,60,587 people have received vaccination so far.
