Mangaluru, May 15: Ullal police arrested a man in connection for allegedly making a derogatory comment on a Hindu deity on social media, here on Saturday May 15.

The arrested accused is Swaliz Iqbal (25) of Smart City residential complex in Thokottu.

It is said that the police arrested accused after the comments on Hindu deity went viral on social media. Iqbal is a running furniture and other business in the city.

A video of insulting a Hindu deity went viral on social media three days ago. Later, when the audio of the same video went viral on social media, members of a Hindu organization filed complaint against Iqbal at Bantwal police station. Later, a case was filed at Ullal police station.

I agree with you, we are all blind as we supported modi because we belonged to a religious base that is dominant in this country. If Mr. Iqbal has made derogatory remarks against any religion, action should be taken against him for disturbing communal harmony, though nothing is going to happen to any Religion just because of the derogatory comments of few. But at the same time what Mr. Rao commented also is definitely a possibility given the background of present regime who are just puppets in the hands of their ideological mentors. Also as per the information read in one of the articles about Mangalore, it used to be a place of peaceful coexistence of various religions and castes. Hindus used to attend ‘Uroos’ other religions used to take part in Janmashtami related games. There were elements who wanted to break this bond, who spread the rumours that pig fat was applied on the “Malkhamb” which kept the Muslims away.... which gradually led to the present level of distrust and resentment between communities. Hope better sense prevails upon every one and understand that Humanity is the greatest religion and not Hinduism, Islam or Christianity

A well known person who tarnish image of Hindu deities taken citizenship of Doha Qatar...died in UK...and buried in Emirates. Sab Bhagwaan Ka Leela Hai. Land which made him famous even in ripe age of 88..not given a piece of land to rest at the end.
