Covid patient's wife begs for bed outside CM's home; man dies on way to hospital

Bengaluru, May 6 (IANS): In a tragic incident, a Covid patient died on his way to the hospital after his family members pleaded for a hospital bed in front of Karnataka Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa's official residence Cauvery, here on Thursday.

Even though the CMO officials made arrangements for a bed and an ambulance, the patient was reportedly declared brought dead by the hospital authorities.

The deceased person has identified as Satish, a resident of Ramohalli on the outskirts of Bengaluru.

According to sources in the CMO, Satish's wife came along with her ailing husband aged around 50 years, and staged a protest in front of the CM's residence seeking a bed for her husband.

"After testing positive for Covid-19, my husband was convalescing at home. But unfortunately his condition deteriorated, and we could not get him admitted to a hospital despite all our efforts," the wailing wife told mediapersons.

According to her, the family members searched all around Ramohalli, which has about a dozen hospitals, but none were ready to admit her husband citing non-availability of beds.

"As the family was accompanied by a Covid patient, none were ready to evict them. After mediapersons intervened, the CMO officials within a short time arranged for a bed at the M.S. Ramaiah Hospital. An ambulance was also arranged, but the patient died on his way to the hospital," the source said.

The woman complained that she ran from pillar to post in and around Ramohalli in search of a hospital bed for her husband, and even her continuous efforts to get in touch with the Covid control rooms also did not yield any result, as all the helpline numbers were busy for the last two days.

"I could not bear to see my husband's deteriorating health condition. Therefore, I came all the way from Ramohalli with great difficulty only to seek the CM's intervention to get a bed for my husband, or else let him die here (in front of CM's house)," the source told IANS quoting the woman.

Why to protest and complain now......when we voted them to power, we didn't ask them for Hospitals, Medicine, Health care, educational institutions, good roads, employment, good environment, safe drinking water, safety of citizens instead we were concerned about our caste, religion, political party and all that crap which Netas were throwing with their chests thumping. So what we sowed, we are reaping now. ........!!! Anyway nothing is going to change......it will continue....as long as we the people learn to make our choices.

That doesn’t mean people should sit quite till 2024 . JUMLA sarkar has taken same attitude in causing disasters like gst, demonsitization, privatisation of banks and protest can only stop such disastours experiments look at farmers holding them by their necks. India is still a Democratic country , people shouldn’t wait till 2024 , learn from farmers of Punjab and protest to get right governance.

Those who went or going through this type of pain and hardship may be cursing the leader of the country and failed timely action in containg the virus. BJP is ahead # 1 in following up election schedule and to make any other political mukth Bharath but eventually their aim is making our country the other way. Bad intentions produc bad events.

Every party irrespective of whoch relegion they support or take advantage of, will have to answer. Either here or heaven or hell. If our government has let us down, they will still be answerable. If not us atleast to God. Implications will directly fall on them.

The only reason our country has reached this state is due to us ( including ones who are commenting here .. me too). The sad part of we the people of India is we have always been casting our votes based on religion, caste or some trivilous reasons. We have never read a parties manifesto... nor seen the credentials of the candidate representing our constituency. Only thing we see if if the candidate is from BJP or congress... what have we got by doing that??? Death everywhere...!! If we would make our candidates accountable for the nonsense they would do then we would have got candidates really working for the society. Our so called representatives clearly know whatever anger people have is for short term. People have SHORT TIME MEMORY. When elections come again people will choose the same old shit religion.. caste....and choose the same old fools who will give crap back to the society. Its a never ending cycle. WE SHOULD REMEMBER OUTPUT DEPENDS ON OUR INPUT. Hopefully next time when we vote see credentials of the candidate. See if he/she is educated. See their caliber and then vote. Hopefully we will have some better future. Else future is grim.

True Mr. Nithin. The people wanted a boasting and orator and now many have realised after facing drastic changes economically. The people had mocked the real hero of economy without analysing his contributions to our Motherland. Now they don't have time to curse because many are dieing before they think of their mischief.
