Mosque committee all set to open corona care centers in Mangaluru

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (DV)

Mangaluru May 1: As coronavirus cases are spiking in the state and in the district in its second wave, and the government is making efforts to increase the beds in the hospitals in the city, mosques in Mangaluru are getting ready to set up corona care centers.

Already, the leaders of mosques have formed Mangaluru Masjid Association. Already, the association after discussing with the experts, as a precautionary measure, will set up the Covid-19 care centers. This is being done so that the people in the city, should not suffer, as the people are suffering in cities like Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi, and other places. The association discussed setting up a Covid-19 care center near Bunder, education institutions in Jeppinamogaru and Babbukatte and several other places. Arrangements have been made to take care of Covid-19 patients if proper infrastructure is available.

The association representatives have met the district health officer Dr Kishore for permission and cooperation in this regard. However, a few organisations have come forward to administer free vaccines. It is being planned to administer the vaccine in mosques. As the officials have informed about the shortage of vaccines, the association has decided to materialize the plan in the upcoming days. The association is planning to enrol the names of people above 18 years to administer the vaccination. As there is no provision of blood donation after receiving jabs, the association has also planned to hold blood donation camps in mosques with the help of blood bank staff. The association also decided to approach the deputy commissioner for permission to hold blood donation camps and to invite donors for the same.

Along with Mangaluru Masjid Association, All India Muslim Development Council (AIMDC)-Masjid One Movement Chapter, will provide training and guidance. Already, the plan has been discussed with over 20 doctors. The arrangement is being made to avail oxygen. Ahmed Mohiuddin has been appointed as convenor of the association. Dr Jalaluddin, Dr Sameer, Dr Abdul Sammad, BM Mumthaz Ali Krishnapura, Zakariya Fervaz, and others are part of the association.

In any critical condition or situations, its always been seen that our Muslim community is the first community who render their helping hand first...and some times risking their lives also. Lets lift up all those in our daily prayers, who are involved in this great cause, to help our people on humanitarian grounds. Lets pray for their safety and protection... always. God bless you all and others too..our covid warriors who give their selfless service....

Good idea. But what I world like to suggest in this time that there are 4 to5 MCC newly constructed markets in Mangalore and not yet started and in vacant since many yyears, I think it is better to start temporary Covid19 hospitals with all facilities including oxygen. That what I suggested last week in phone in programmes with MCC commissioner. But they have not showed any interest and busy in alloting shops in Tender.

Following is the letter written by the Managing director of Borosil Ltd, Mr Shreevar Keruka to their employees: We have lost four of our employees to this dreadful pandemic. Their names are Santosh Chalke, Vijay Shirsat, Tushar Panchal and Shiv Shankar Bisth. The sadness of these losses are indescribable. In order to reassure employees, we have announced that the family of employees of Borosil Ltd, Borosil Renewable Ltd and their subsidiaries will be given 2 years of salary in the event of an unfortunate demise owing to covid 19. In addition to this, the education of the children of the employee will be paid till graduation in India. The above is in no comparison to the loss, but hopefully will allow the family enough time to process the bereavement and reorient. I firmly believe the real assets of Borosil are not reflected in our balance sheet at all. We need to protect these assets in whatever way we can. I hope this move is on that direction. This too will pass and we will emerge into a better tomorrow.
