Mangaluru, Apr 15: Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) on Thursday April 15, urged the state government to fulfill the demands of land surveyors who are protesting against the government urging to fulfill their demands.

Speaking at a press meet here at Press Club, SDPI district general secretary Sahul Hameed S H said, "The general public, labourers, and farmers are facing inconvenience following the protest by the land surveyors in the district. The land surveyors are holding the protest boycotting office for the past two months and urging the government to make their jobs permanent and to pay their honorarium on time.

"The government should provide justice to land surveyors by making their jobs permanent especially of those staff who are working for the past two years and fulfill their demand. Instead of making jobs permanent of 2,000 land surveyors who are working for the past 17 years, it is heading to recruit 2,000 new land surveyors.

“In each taluk, there is a requirement of 20 land surveyors. But as of now, only 5 to 7 surveyors are working in the offices and others are working on temporary basis.

“Usually, in each taluk, in a day nearly 30 to 40 applications are being submitted, but due to the protest of land surveyors, several files are pending. This has caused inconvenience to the general public.

“The revenue department and the government should sort out the issue immediately. If not, in the coming days, the SDPI will hold a severe protest along with protesters and the general public in the district,” he said.

Anwar Sadath Bajathoor, Jamal Jokatte and Nasir Sajeepa were present.

Strike is a failed weapon in the armory of working class. In recent times,, many strikes met with total failure. The left ideology failed in Russia and China. If KSRTC or Survey Dept. workers are not satsfied with the present salary structure, kindly quit the job and shiw your takent in other similar organisations. There are so many persons waiting in the quee, Covid created mass unemplyment, many are ready to work for half of the salary that you are getting. There are thousands of workers who are getting half salary in private sector. Actually surplus value is created there, not in government organisations. In Government organisations or Government supported corporations strike is totally unjustified. The losses,, compilation given to the kith and kin of the driver must be recovered from striking workers and their leader like Kodihalli who is responsible for this rakkas behaviirs.

The Grand old Congress party unholy nexus, with radicalized organizations... like AIMIM, AIUDF, IUML,.ISF, SDPI, has not gone unnoticed in the hearts and minds of the majority community.... Coastal region of Karnataka, used to be the backbone, of the INC, for decades. The BJP has now taken firm roots, across the entire state. SDPI influence will only be in selected pockets in a section, dominated by one community..

Seriously , a press conference? The non Congress opposition is gaining traction. The parties are taking up genuine issues for public. Not circle renaming, bank merger , airport privatization that a commoner is not concerned about. Its going to be a tough game from now on .

Very good initiative, It will definitely help poor people. The cause is just and also any day better than running after the renaming of airport for another 'God knows' years.
