Mangaluru: Title song of Kannada movie 'Premam Poojyam' released

Mangaluru, Apr 13: The title song of 'Lovely Star' Prem Kumar starrer ‘Premam Poojyam’ was released at a grand function held in Father Muller Convention Centre on Tuesday, April 13.

The film is directed by Dr Raghavendra B S which will mark Prem’s 25th film. Brinda Acharya and Aindrita Ray are playing the lead role along with Prem.

The teaser of the movie has already been released on February 13. It has garnered over 2 million views already. The teaser looks promising and colourful.

The movie is produced by Dr Rakshith Kedambadi, Dr Rajkumar Janakiraman, Dr Raghavendra S, Manoj Krishnan which is presented by Kedambadi Creations. Apart from directing, Dr Raghavendra B S has composed the music, background score and penned the lyrics, story and screenplay. The movie is co-produced by Dr Devdas Acharya and Dr Archith Boloor.

The director of Father Muller Charitable Institutions, Fr Richard Coelho said, "Being a doctor, Dr Raghavendra ventured into movies. But, he has not set aside his duty as a doctor. I hope this movie is entertaining for the audience and more people watch it."

Police commissioner N Shashi Kumar said, "When I was in Delhi in the year 2005, I would watch Kannada movies. When I came to Mysuru, I came across a poster of Prem’s Nenapirali. The movie was so good that I watched it thrice. Prem is one of the most decent and dignified actors in the sandalwood. Artists should not limit to only Kannada film industry but they should venture into other film industries too, this movie has come up from a fond movie lover Dr Raghavendra."

Former HoD Neurology KMC Mangaluru Dr I G Bhat said, "I am very proud of Dr Raghavendra who has directed a very good movie, it looks colourful and interesting. Dr Raghavendra during his initial days was keen to watch the movie the day it releases. This is how he has earned knowledge of films. The teaser which was released two months ago looks eye-catching."

"I am feeling happy to be in Mangaluru where we have beaches, such places gives us relief whenever we are sad. The contribution of the people of Mangaluru is well-known globally. Director Dr Raghavendra is a man with a lot of talent, I am amazed to see his love and passion for cinema," Prem said.

"I had already decided to end my career after my 24th film when director Raghavendra approached me it was a defining moment for me. When he conveyed the story he was crystal clear about what the story is from the beginning to the end. All my movies so far are musical hits, this is the first movie of mine which consists of 14 songs," he added.

The title song is completely dedicated to my patients, said director, Dr Raghavendra B S.

Actress Brinda Acharya, actor Vikas Puthran, Master Anand, DOP Naveen Kumar, neurosurgeon, Dr Murlidhar, producer, Rajesh Bhat, singer Vihaan, guitarist Charan, background scorer, Thyagaraja and others were present.

Co-producers, Dr Archith Boloor welcomed the gathering, Dr Deepthi and RJ Anurag compered the event.
