Beltangady: Sacred Heart College Madanthyar inaugurates multi-gym

Beltangady, Apr 10: Sacred Heart Arnold Multi-Gym was inaugurated on Friday April 9 in the well-equipped indoor stadium of Sacred Heart College Madanthyar.

India’s first 'Mister World', Raymond D’Souza inaugurated the gym and was the chief guest. Raymond D’Souza expressed the importance of maintaining physical fitness among the youth and a healthy body always helps the mind to stay calm and active. He also said that by doing exercises and going to the gym one can avoid bad habits.

Correspondent, Fr Basil Vas in his presidential remark said, “The college indoor stadium already has the facility of badminton, basketball and table tennis. By starting a multi-gym, it has added one more feather to the institution."


Vice-president of the parish council, Leo Rodrigues, a well-wisher of the college, big brother Lancy Pinto, taluk panchayat member Joel Mendonca, gym trainer and owner of Arnold Multi-Gym Ronald D’Souza, national-level Kabaddi referee and president of the alumni association Francis V V, match referee Sanjeeva Shetty Mugerody, Nisarga Studio and video owner Subramanya, Abdul Rehman Padpu, students and staff were present at the programme.

Dr Joseph N M, the principal of the college welcomed the gathering, physical education director, Prakash D’Souza proposed the vote of thanks. Nelson Monis anchored the programmme.
