Mangaluru: St Aloysius College, CODP organise awareness on plastic waste management

Mangaluru, Mar 26: St Aloysius College, here, in collaboration with Canara Organisation for Development and Peace® on March 26 conducted awareness on plastic waste management, organic farming and Eco-brick at Canara Higher Primary School, Urva and Ladyhill Higher Primary School.

At Canara Higher Primary School

Shilpa Acharya, a Canara School teacher presided over the programme. Resource persons Lima, Thamanna Poonacha T, Shohulo Seb, Jesvin N D (trainees of Social work of St Aloysius College) stressed the conservation of the environment and recycling plastic waste through a PowerPoint Presentation and practical demonstration. The students were motivated to make bottle bricks to prevent littering, burning of plastic waste. Students gave their feedback regarding the programme and Lalana J Shenoy delivered the vote of thanks.

At Ladyhill Higher Primary School

Jessy teacher of the school presided over the programme, resource person Thamanna Poonacha T (trainee of Social work of St Aloysius College) delivered awareness on organic farming, eco-brick and plastic waste management.

Through a PowerPoint presentation, students of the school were engaged with activities by other trainees and introduced about eco- brick through a demonstration which motivated the students and the students gave their feedback on the programme. Sr Maria Chetan delivered the vote of thanks.
