Mangaluru: Milagres College students’ council inaugurated, UGC career oriented courses certified

Mangaluru, Mar 20: The inauguration of the student council and certification of UGC career-oriented courses such as Aviation and Hospitality Management, Travel and Tourism of Milagres College were held on March 20.

The programme began with an invocation led by the college choir. Eva Manorama, HOD of Commerce, welcomed the dignitaries and introduced the chief guest for the day. S L Bhojegowda, member of the Legislative Council, South West Teachers Constituency, Government of Karnataka. Cleeta D’Souza, general secretary of FIMCAP Asia and JCI Mangalore Inspire was the guest of honour.

Fr Michael L Santhumayor, principal, Professor Lourdusamy, academic advisor, Akshith Suvarna, All India JDS youth president, Sonia D’Mello, principal of CBSE section, Cassin Rodrigues, vice -principal, Nithin, student president and Shravya student vice-presidnet, were present on the dais.

The dignitaries inaugurated the programme by lighting a lamp. The principal administered the oath to the office-bearers of the students' council. The chief guest addressed the gathering with his encouraging words filled with enlightenment regarding the importance of education and the role of educational institutes and faculty in the progress of the country. Cleeta D’Souza spoke on the role of a leader on the road to success. the principal in his presidential message spoke about the college motto- Passion for Perfection and congratulated all the members of the students’ council. Certificates were awarded to the students of the various UGC certificate courses.

Cassin Rodrigues, the vice-principal proposed the vote of thanks. The programme was compered by Florida Almeda.
