Mangaluru: Workshop on 'The Culture of Innovation in Entrepreneurship' held at Canara College

Mangaluru, Mar 9: Self-confidence is extremely important in almost every aspect of one’s lives entrepreneurship and innovation are two very closely related phenomena.

Keeping in mind the objective, a Workshop on 'The Culture of Innovation in Entrepreneurship' in association with ISTD Mangaluru/Udupi chapter was organized for the students of Commerce and Management by Dr Devi Prabha Alva, national certified MEPSC trainer and associate professor of Commerce, St Agnes College, Mangaluru.

The inaugurator and chief guest Niveditha Mirajkar, behavioral trainer and chairperson, in her inaugural address highlighted that educational institute is the best platform to promote entrepreneurship which helps the students to mold themselves with unique set of skills.

Dr Premalatha V, principal and president of the workshop stated that the college has initiated innovation and entrepreneurship development cell with an objective to enhance knowledge and kindle the skills of the young minds aspiring to be successful entrepreneurs.

The resource person Dr Devi Prabha Alva, enlightened the mindset of the students with regard to the field of entrepreneurship. She explained the importance of being unique and strategies to build confidence. She stated that any act of entrepreneurship starts with the vision of an attractive opportunity.

The workshop included activities associated to leadership skills. Lastly, she concluded the session by highlighting the factors that are required to become an entrepreneur such as passion, dedication and hard work.

The workshop was followed by MOU exchange between ISTD, Mangalore/Udupi chapter and Canara College, Mangaluru. Shivani Baliga and Dhanyashri Gatty, managing committee members of ISTD were also present.

The workshop was coordinated by Usha Nayak, Vinoda Nayak and Priyanaka, the convenors of the workshop. Neha compered the workshop. Thejal proposed the vote of Thanks.

As many as 117 students participated in the workshop.
