Mangaluru, Mar 3: Former MLA JR Lobo on Wednesday, March 3 sought an apology from Mysuru-Kodagu MP Pratap Simha over his recent remarks on the Christian community at the Karnataka Development Programme (KDP) meeting in Mysuru.

He was addressing a press meet at Congress Bhavan in the city.

Pratap Simha at the KDP meeting had sought to deprive the government facilities to those who wear the cross on their necks. "Is it a crime to wear the cross on the neck? Wearing a cross on the neck is the symbol of the community. No MPs should have such a cheap mentality," Lobo said.

Pratap Simha should apologise for his statement. He is unfit to be a member of parliament, Lobo stated.

In the recent KDP meeting that was held on February 24, MP Simha had reportedly directed the officials to identify people moving around with crosses on their necks so as to deprive them of the facilities being extended by the state government. The comments from the MP had drawn the ire of the Christian community, who demanded that he tenders an apology immediately.

Surprised why he isnt charged with sedition. He is an anti-national and is spreading hatered against Christians. Thus creating a divide in the country. He should be jailed for a lifetime

Has he been influenced by someone to make such a statement? Actual culprit must be hiding and now he must be planning someother move. May be this is to check the pulse of the Christians. Or to get publicity? Why can't they preach some peaceful living and brotherly affection. With this there will not be any turmoil in society.

While the said MP deserves strong condemnation possibly like another minister who has just resigned same yardstick..... It is very deep / acknowledged service provided by Christian institutions .. education.. medical etc etc without bias of religion / equality .... this BJP leader cannot reach the level of service.. so it is a given .. With this back ground these statements are red herrings .. Divert attention from immediate pressing problems .. Corruption.. price rise .. job losses.. in totality economy ..

    1. Let's all of us know; Indian Constitution states that India is a Secular, Sovereign,Socialist and Democratic republic. 2. The core ethos of India has been a fundamental unity, tolerance and even synthesis of religion. 3. Secularism means' that STATE SHALL HAVE NO RELIGION of its own and all persons of the country shall be equally entitled to the freedom of their conscience and have the right freely profess, practice and propagate any religion. Many nations in the world are secular. 4. FREEDOM IS MOST PRECIOUS GIFT & IT'S A MATTER OF NATURAL JUSTICE. FREEDOM IS TAKEN NOT GIVEN. 5. THEREFORE, WE MUST ALWAYS BE VIGILANT TO PROTECT OUR GOTTEN RIGHTS FROM THE ROBBERS!

By now he should have apologized if not he has the nod from high command. It’s the future strategy of communal BJP govt. For muslims they have deprived them of beef, allegations of love-jihad and disturbances. Now they are coming behind Christians by depriving facilities, allegations of conversions. Aren’t Christians paying taxes and contributing to social and economic development of the country?????........ Christians aren’t demanding anything free.

Mr Pratap is very weak minded MP, he is not fit to be MP. His mental status is not called for progress but for destruction.

It’s either people are stupid to vote him or his party is so corrupt to give him the ticket to contest and win him anyway even by EVMs. Every person in BJP been used for some specific purpose and has a specific role but all for exploitation and for self serving.
