It would seem these smugglers are successful most times, else despite several reports of smugglers being caught at the airport, they would not continue to try smuggle through flights into Mangaluru.

Gold prices is fixed all over the world, when purchased in India prices are high due to Taxes etc. I am sure he purchased Gold from his hard earned money for his daughter wedding or saving for his old age etc. It's not correct to use word smuggled.!!!!!!!! Indian Government should allow to bring gold and ask to pay taxes and return the gold to those who brings.
