Mangaluru, Feb 27: “Women entrepreneurial success rate is very high when compared with men. This is due to their hard work, passion, perseverance and never give up attitude,” said Ullas Kamath, joint managing director of Jyothy Laboratories Limited, Mumbai.
He was addressing the MBA students and faculty members of Manel Srinivas Nayak Institute of Management (MSNIM) as a part of the MSNM Guest Talk Series. The programme was held on Saturday, February 27 at MSNIM campus at Bondel, Mangaluru.
Speaking on the topic ‘Entrepreneurship and the Challenges’, Ullas Kamath said passion, perfection and patience are the key to entrepreneurial success. “The whole world cannot be of job seekers, there should also be job creators. Entrepreneurship cannot be taught, it must be learnt. Entrepreneurs must be self-reliant and not dependents on others,” he said. He also gave an insight into how Jyothy Laboratories was started with a capital of Rs. 5000 and has grown into a large company having 90% women workforce.
Giving the example of Swiggy, he observed that technology is the major driver of entrepreneurial ventures today. “Develop competitiveness and empower ordinary people to become extraordinary by excelling their skills,” he advised aspiring entrepreneurs.
Manel Annappa Nayak, vice president of Women’s National Education Society (WNES) presided over the programme. WNES secretary Devananda Pai, members Raghav Kamath, Nagar Narayan Shenoy, Sathish Bhat, Ganesh Bhat, M N Pai and institute director Dr Molly S Chaudhuri were present on the occasion.
