Bengaluru: Alliance with JD(S) for Mysuru mayoral election - Siddaramaiah unhappy

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Feb 26: Leader of the opposition in the state assembly and former chief minister of Karnataka, Siddaramaiah, is learnt to have become livid over his party reaching an understanding with the JD(S) relating to mayoral election at Mysuru again. He feels that even after the two parties reached an understanding, the post of the mayor was again conceded to the JD(S).

Siddaramaiah is disturbed at the fact that Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president D K Shivakumar, spoke to former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy and entered into an understanding. It is learnt that he made his displeasure evident by questioning what the relevance is of himself and other leaders like him if Shivakumar takes decisions unilaterally. He pointed out that there are observers and the party's parliamentary party which spell out the strategies.

Siddaramaiah said he had spoken to Sa Ra Mahesh, a JD(S) leader, but not Kumaraswamy. He feigned ignorance of any agreement reached with that party. Shivakumar reportedly tried to pacify Siddaramaiah by saying that he had spoken to Kumaraswamy at the request of Tanveer Sait.

Siddaramaiah is angry that the party struck an understanding in which it sacrificed the seat of the mayor to the JD(S). He felt that the BJP should have been allowed to go with the JD(S). He recalled that a decision was taken at a meeting held at his residence and expressed anger at the fact that an alliance was stuck with the JD(S) by transgressing the decisions taken at the said meeting.

Shivakumar said that the post of the mayor should have been bagged by the party. He said he does not know why the seat went to the JD(S). He said that KPCC working president, Dhruvanarayana, had been appointed as an observer and a report will be called for from him on this issue.

Sorry to say, your emotions do not matter sir. If RaGa decides , Siddu may even have to forge an alliance with PFI or SDPI for that matter. Survival is the key!

Siddaramaiah, You should leave your arrogant attitude. Your friend in ruling party , CM Yeddirappa may join hands with you, during your times of turmoil in future. Politicians have no enemies. Only marriage of convenience. We voters and common man are paying the big price.

I dont understand when Congress will introspect. We are losing elections literally everywhere. Even after forging alliances pre poll or after polls , eventually the Govt crumbles leading to more humiliation. How can we garner trust from people . New small regional unheard fringe parties are growing stronger due to this and making their presence felt. Besides the leaders even the supporters or followers of the Grand old party are to be blamed. There is no ground level support. Its just press conferences, social media or online war mongering. It does not or has not created any impact, This has now been going for the past one decade and the results are very clear. For example, the recent Yogi visit to Mangalore. Yogi came, gave his usual hate speech and left. The Congress supporters just stood and mute spectators. They showed their dissent and unhappiness on online forums the next day. Why wasnt there any protest when Yogi was in Mangalore for 24 hours? How an you expect a party to grow , revive and rule, if this is your attitude.? No wonder no one takes us seriously! We are making our opposition better than it is.
