Mangaluru: Carmel School celebrates ‘Road Safety Week’

Mangaluru, Feb 16: ‘Speed thrills but kills! Keeping to road safety measures ensures the smooth functioning of a society. To create awareness and enlightenment, a few steps were taken by Carmel School. The students displayed in their respective classrooms bulletin boards signs, symbols and slogans on ‘Sadak Suraksha, Jeevan Raksha’. Short videos on road safety measures were prepared by the staff and sent to the students of classes 1 to 10.

The school organized a short programme inviting resource persons, G K Bhat, east traffic police inspector and Jayanada, west traffic police inspector addressed the students on the road safety measures and clarified all the doubts of the students.



Manikanth, police inspector was also present at the programme. Liffin Saldahna compered the programme, Sonia Rodrigues welcomed the gathering, and Jahnavi proposed the vote of thanks.

A prayer song was led by the students and a song on ‘Sadak Suraksha, Jeevan Raksha’ was sung by the staff.

Sr Sarika, the principal and Sr Rose Agnes, the administrator and the entire faculty were present at the meaningful programme.
