Mangaluru: Faculty development programme held at Milagres College

Mangaluru, Feb 6: The IQAC of Milagres College on February 6 organized a faculty development programme conducted by the Catholic Association of South Kanara (CASK).

Fr Michael Santhumayor, principal of Milagres College welcomed the members of CASK and the participants. In his message, he spoke about the importance of faculty development programme and the role played by CASK in serving society.

Nayana Fernandes, former president of CASK briefed about its functioning and objectives.

The programme was dealt by resource persons, Patsy Lobo, senior coordinator of Teacher Foundation & Soft Skills trainer who spoke on the topic 'Collective Mindfulness', Manoj Fernandes, faculty from the department of Management of St Aloysius College spoke on the topic 'Challenges faced in teaching and understanding students', Bharathi Shevgoor spoke on 'Impactful Communication and Leadership', Usha Rao, an educationist spoke on 'Role of Teachers in Suicide Prevention', Dr Derek Lobo, retired regional adviser of South-East Asia, UN-WHO spoke on 'National Educational Policy 2020'.

The focus of this programme was to enrich the faculty with the present teaching scenario and to help them with various possibilities to have a better journey in their teaching. The faculty development programme benefitted 20 participants of the degree college.
