Beltangady: Inauguration of NSS activities held at Sacred Heart College Madanthyar

Beltangady, Feb 1: The NSS unit of Sacred Heart College Madanthyar on Saturday 30 inaugurated the activities for the academic year 2020-21.

The correspondent of Sacred Heart Institutions Madanthyar, Fr Basil Vas was the inaugurator. The programme started with the NSS theme song by the volunteers. The correspondent inaugurated the activities by lighting a lamp. In his inaugural speech highlighting the motto of NSS and stated that with personality development and societal service, one can contribute to the nation-building.

The principal of the college, Dr Joseph N M shared his experience as a programme officer quoting instances about how the students had been transformed by involving themselves in the NSS activities. He also urged the new volunteers to participate actively and work together without any difference to promote brotherhood.

Nearly 200 volunteers of the two units participated in the inaugural ceremony, programme officer of unit II, Robin Joseph Sera gave the introductory remarks and welcomed the gathering, unit leader Sharath B of II BCom proposed the vote of thanks, NSS programme officer of unit I, Professor Janardhanan P and the office bearers were present on the dais. Deputy programme officers, senior NSS volunteers, staff also participated in the programme.

Stephy Maria and Chaitra of II BCom anchored the programme.
