Mangaluru: Social Work Department of Mangalore University student council inauguration held

Mangaluru, Feb 1: The inaugural programme of the Student Council of the department of Post Graduation Studies and Research at Social Work, Mangalore University was held on January 30 at Yakshagana Kala Mandhira, Mangalore University, Konaje.

The programme was inaugurated by the chief guest Keshava Bangera, a lecturer of Narayana Guru College, Mangaluru. In his inaugural address, he called students to be self-reliant by believing on self to overcome any difficulties and to achieve the goal of their life. Professor Paul G Aquinus, chairman of Social work Department presided over the programme. In his presidential address, he said, "Students are the pride of a teacher as they are identified through students. Professor Paul G Aquinus led the oath-taking ceremony for the first and second-year class representatives of the social work department.

Dr Mohan Singhe, assistant professor of Social Work department wished the very best to the students. Second year students welcomed the first year students to the department by exhibiting a cultural programme.
