Mangaluru: St Joseph Engineering College celebrates patriotic Republic Day

Mangaluru, Jan 30: Commemorating India’s 72nd Republic Day, the staff and the students of St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC), here, got together to celebrate a patriotic day on the campus.

Dr Vincent Cratsa, the HOD of the Physics department, was the chief guest on the occasion. Fr Wilfred Prakash D’Souza, director of SJEC, Fr Alwyn Richard D’Souza, the assistant director of SJEC, Dr Rio D’Souza, the principal of SJEC, Rakesh Lobo, the HR manager of SJEC were also present.

The celebrations began with a patriotic song followed by the hoisting of the National Flag by the chief guest. The security personnel of SJEC led the gathering in saluting the National Flag and rendering the National Anthem.



In his address, Dr Vincent called upon the youth of today to contribute to the building of the nation, to renew the tasks at hand with greater vigour to make India a world power, to take India to its rightful place in the world order and to make this country a better place to live in for the generations to come.

Although the formal function was a short one, the day was filled with happiness and patriotic fervour all around!
