Mangaluru: Shakthi Institutions stage month-long street play on coronavirus awareness

Mangaluru, Jan 27: Shakthi Pre-School, Shakthi Residential School and Shakthi PU College, Shakthinagar, here, in collaboration with KIOCL displayed the fifth show of the month’s long street play- An awareness on Corona on January 26 at KIOCL township, Kavoor Mangaluru.

The faculty of Shakthi Group of Institutions came forward in a unique way of depicting all new experiences and the trauma that people and the frontline workers have undergone during this pandemic through a street play. The Health Club of Shakthi Residential School provided a platform for this project and was inaugurated by Dr Ashok H, the nodal officer for COVID-19, DK District for the second consecutive time. Speaking on the occasion, he appreciated the task of the teachers and the precautions taken to present the same to the general public with utmost care. SMS protocol (social distancing, mask and sanitizers) when followed or used accurately will definitely subside the risk he stated.



The chairman and managing director of KIOCL M V Subba Rao was the chief guest. He mentioned that teamwork is very important to influence our living and our fight against the coronavirus. He appreciated the care taken by the faculty in presenting themselves following all protocols.

K V Bhaskar Reddy, director of Production and Projects inaugurated the show by releasing the tri-colour balloons into the sky. A V S Bhat, GM I/C Mangaluru, Dasappa Shetty, GM I/C BFU, Ramakrishna Rao, GM (Prod) of KIOCL, Dr K C Naik, administrator of Shakthi Education Trust, Sanjith Naik, secretary of Shakthi Education Trust were the guests of honour.

Ramesh K, the chief advisor, Prakyath Rai, Institute Development Officer of Shakthi Education Trust were present on the occasion.

The residents of the KIOCL township appreciated the efforts of the teachers. Sharanappa, Kannada teacher is the scriptwriter and director of the play. Muralidhar Kamath provided assistance in music and direction. Vidya Kamath G, principal of Shakthi Residential School welcomed the gathering and Neema Saxena, the co-ordinator of Shakthi Pre-School proposed the vote of thanks. Swathi Bharath compered the show.
