Mangaluru, Jan 16: Shakthi Education Trust, Shanktinagara here, and the department of Social Work, Mangalore University, Mangalagangothri on January 16 jointly organised a street play – ‘An awareness on CORONA’ at C V Raman Circle, Mangalore University campus.
The programme was inaugurated by Professor P S Yadapadithaya, the vice-chancellor of Mangalore University.
Followed by this, a welcome speech was given by Dr Yashawini Battangaya, assistant professor of Social Work department. K Raju Mogaveera was the chief guest of the programme. Professor Paul G Aquinas, chairman of Social Work department presided over the programme. Dr Mohan S Singhe, the programme coordinator and assistant professor of Social Work department; Dr K C Naik, administrator of Shakthi Education Trust; Ramesh K, syndicate member of Mangalore University, Prakyath Rai, institute development officer of Shakthi Education Trust; Vidya Kamath G, the principal of Shakthi Residential School, Neema Saxena, co-ordinator of Shakthi Pre-school, Seena Shetty, founder of Jan Shikshana Trust; K Achuta Gatty, member of Konaje Gram Panchayat, Prasad Rai Kallimar, a young entrepreneur of Konaje; university students, faculty, research scholars were present on the occasion.
After the inaugural session, a street play was presented by a faculty member of Shakthi Education Trust, Shakthinagar Mangaluru. The street play was effectively performed to create awareness among the student community specifically on coronavirus, its mode of communication, symptoms of COVID-19 infection and various precautionary measures to prevent its spread.
