Dubai: Vishwa Karma Seva Samithi holds Annual Sports, Cricket Tourney

Dubai, Jan 30: Shri Vishwakarma Sewa Samithi held annual sports and cricket tournament - 2010 at the Zabeel Park cricket grounds, Karama here on Friday January 29. 

The Vishwakarma community members attended the full day programme in large numbers.The main event was the cricket tournament where the passion for respective teams almost matched the same intensity as an Indo-Pak cricket series. In all 12 teams participated in the tournament. JVC team bagged the 'Vishwakarma Trophy' and Sharjah Friends were the runner-up.   






















Other events held for the children, ladies and gents included, breaking the pot, 3-legged race, sack race, 100 meters sprint, tug-of-war, mehendi competition for ladies and so on.  Magic show and housie housie games were also held. The ceremony concluded with the prize distribution. 

The event was sponsored by Lama Tours Dubai, Tiffany Joos , Tasty Tea, Rudrayya Achar, Abu-Dhabi, Harish Kamath, Daijiworld, Prakash Udyavar, magician and Jassim ,Zabeel Park, grounds-in-charge.

    I would like to convey to president Mr.Pejawar that when we have a good strength and a good bunch of talented sports person why cant we compete in some tournaments on behalf of VKSS regularly/occasionally. This could even makes us well organised team.

    VKSS is growing better and better as days progressed. Its easy to comment but its really hard when it is to deliver, but anyway my heary wishes to each and every member of VKSS who had directly and indirectly patronized. Its to the mentor Mr.Shantaram Acharya who with some members started this samithi just like a rough diamond, slowly and steadily he began to polish and cut to give a perfect shape. The more they cut and polish, it shines more. This has been done and has to progress in coming years. REGARDS Mohan.

    Well organized event. Now we can openly challenge any community to have a cricket match against VKB's. JVC team you are the best.     Well done. I was just on a short vacation to Abu-dhabi and attended the sports and bagged 2 gold medals. You can see me receiving the prize. It makes me proud to show to my friends back in college. Well organized event. Time was too short hope next time we will have more fun.Encouraging the youths in sports and the wow factor was ladies mehendi competition. Well done ladies ....
