Hegde said he had visited over 1200 educational institutions since his retirement and had interacted with the youth to make them understand the importance of being content in one’s life and humanism - Being humane in dealing with society. "When society, in general, ignores these two values they tend to become greedy and corrupt which in turn leads to the failure of a society. Thus, to break the cycle of corruption one needs to awaken the youth towards the idea of a corruption-free society."

The amount of zeros in the modern-day scams has only been increasing while the 3 core pillars of modern society namely the parliament, the executives and the Judiciary have been failing the people. To fix it, the next generation, the youth should understand the importance and happiness one can have from wealth that it can earn legitimately.

"The social value of responsibility for one’s action is the need of the hour and when each individual takes up a responsible action only then can the society advance toward serving the betterment of humanity."
