Mangaluru: Sahyadri Team emerges champions at VTU inter-collegiate athletic competition

Mangaluru, Nov 25: Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management athletic team emerged overall champions (with 87 points) for the seventh time at VTU inter-collegiate athletic competition held at GNDEC, Bidar from October 22 to 25 and SJCIT, Chikballapur on November 23 and 24.

Sahyadri College women’s team emerged champions in the women's category with 49 points and Sahyadri College men’s team emerged champions in men's section with 38 points. March-past team won second place. Manisha A was awarded as Best Athlete in the women's section.

Medals won by Sahyadri students:

1. Manisha A: Second place in 100 mtr and first place in 200 mtr
2. Deeksha P: First place in Heptathlon and second place in high jump
3. Harshith V: First place in pole vault
4. Anvitha Shetty: second place in long jump and 100 mtrs hurdles
5. Sushmika P R: Third place in 400 mtrs hurdles
6. Manasa S Shetty: Third place in javelin throw
7. Mohammed Zaheer: First place in long jump and third place in 100 mtr
8. Jackson F Pereira: second place in long jump
9. Mohith M: second place in 400 mtr
10. Swathi Ganiga: Second place in pole vault and third place in heptathlon
11. S Sahana: 2nd place in 10000 Mtrs.
12. Sanjana: 3rd place in Shotput
13. Muhammad Suhaib B:1st place in High Jump
14. Sushmitha Mendon: Third place in discus throw
15. Devika: Second place in 400 mtr and 400 mtr hurdles

First place in 4x100 mtr relay (women): Manisha A, Anvitha Shetty, Deeksha P and Vaishnavi D K
Second place 4x100 mtr relay (men): Jackson F Pereira, Mohammed Zaheer, Sathwick C Rai and Aman H A
First place 4x400 mtr relay (men): Mohith M, Akshay Kumar B, Vaibhav, Krishnamurthy Naik and Bharath M H
