Three Killed in Clashes over Mosque Desecration in Mysore

IANS

Mysore, Jul 2: Three people were killed on Thursday in clashes over the desecration of a mosque in this Karnataka city.

The three - Zubaiullah (15), Yasir (35) and Tirupati (40) - died of stab wounds following the clash in the Udayagiri suburb of Mysore, about 140 km from the state capital Bangalore.

Tensions erupted over the desecration of the Alima mosque in Kyathamaranahalli locality when worshippers found the carcass of a swine, according to police.

"The situation is tense but under control," Udayagiri sub-inspector M. Srikanth told IANS by phone.

"To avert further clashes and maintain peace, we have banned the assembling of people under Section 144 of the CrPC (Criminal Procedure Code) in the area covering Udayagiri, Mandi and Narasimha Raja civic limits," Srikanth said.

Police fired teargas shells and caned the mob that gathered at the mosque as word spread about the incident.

"We have registered a case of unlawful act in a place of worship and hope to book the culprits soon," the inspector said.

Of the three stabbing victims, Zubaillah succumbed to his injuries in hospital.

It is sad that people always get away unpunished for desecrating the place of worship. There should be strict action on this. citizens should not allow this, irrespective of which sect they belong.

It is very sad to hear such sort of repeated news and photos. All relegions exists and working for a peaceful environment, but the people exist are working to destroy it with ridiculous thinkings and unstable politics. Let's find time to cascade the best relegious practice at our home and make a peaceful next generation.

only in India we fight so much in the name of religion and ultimately the only one who benefits is the POLITICIANS. people who commit such type of immoral acts should be punished. in all these riots it is ultimately the common and middle class people who are main sufferers loosing thier peace, property and life. Be wise and do not fall a prey to such hindrances. The police should take action and punish the culprits should be punished strictly by all communities.

Oh no, not again. When is this going to stop. People fighting over the name of religion and innocents being killed. I dont know when people will learn. You practice your faith and I will practice mine and at the same time respect one another. Live and let live. World would have been a far far better place to live. Will this fight over religion ever end?

Yeddy''s dirty communal politics started once again after a brief election pause. He should never forget that he is accountable for all this nonsence. If the government is strong, secular and democratic none of these things ever happen. Once things have already happened what is the use of post mortem ?

Members of both communities should act with caution and responsibility and community leaders should take control of the situation and must try to put an end to these types happenings. Let me advise my muslim brothes, if someone throws swine flesh or swine blood to any religious place, the sanctity and sacredness of that place wont go.

Only eating the swine flesh is forbidden (haram). Please read islamic history, when our prophet (pbuh) was praying, non beleivers used to throw the instentine of camel on to him, he forgave them and continued to pay, as a result his belief in God strengthened. Police should act impartially and must apprehend the people behind it. We need peace and people of all communities to live like good neighbours.

It is very unfortunate that we are fighting in the name of religion.Holy places of worship must not be desecrated. The culprits who threw carcass must be given exemplary punishment.Let sanity prevail in the city.Somanna can order prayers in all places of worship so that there is not only rain but also peace.

Pictures are enough proof fro the police to nab and punish the culprits. Media, Job Weldone. Let us not create rumours. If some one has done something which is illegal or immoral etc let us inform the Police who will do their Job.

Where is the humanity? Someone has stabbed 15 years old young boy. People should remain calm and let the police do their job and find the culprit. If not Almighty will punish the culprit by any means, this applies for all the places of worship. The place of worship is where we see the creator there is only one creator of this world, so why this kind of hatred towards each other, why can’t we believe in humanity?
