UAE: JAKC Announces 'Konkan Dabazo -3' with Fashion Show
Media Release (GA)

Jebel Ali, Jun 27: John M Monteiro, president of JAKC (Jebel Ali Assisi Konkani Community), UAE along with the core committee members, recently launched “Konkani Dabazo 3” to be staged at the Assisi Parish Hall of St Francis of Assisi Church, Jebel Ali on November 19, 2009 with a number of Konkani melodies by Vincent Fernandes, Cascia of ‘Mogachi Lahran' fame.  Vincent has already released 6 volumes of this famous brand and is expected to release the 7th in the near future.

From the success of last year's Dabazo, JAKC has decided to go ahead with the Fashion Show for the ladies.  This year the added attraction would be Fashion Show for the little girls aged below 10.  Rib-tickling skits will keep the audience spellbound during the show.  Keeping up the JAKC tradition in mind the show is expected to start sharp at 8:00 pm. Like the previous shows staged by JAKC, this programme too will be free of charge and dinner will be served at nominal cost.

JAKC was started with an intention to serve the less fortunate working in the Jebel ali free zone camps, Jebel ali Industrial area and Al Quoz Industrial Area.  JAKC has initiated the celebration of Konkani mass on every first Thursday by spiritual director Fr Freddy D'Souza. Konkani prayer group meetings are held on every first Monday under the guidance of Francis Corderio with a group prayer on Fridays.  JAKC offers free transport to both the events to help the faithful to serve the Lord within their capacity.

JAKC also organizes the feast of Nativity on September 8 every year with the traditional distribution of Paddy specially flown in from Mangalore.  Sumptuous vegetarian dinner is served to the congregation free of charge. JAKC also takes part in the parish feast celebrated on the first Friday in October every year.

JAKC has decided to help educating less fortunate in Mangalore as well as helping a tragic-hit family in Mangalore from the proceedings of this show.

JAKC is headed by parish priest and patron Fr Eugene Mattioli, spiritual director Fr Freddy D’Souza, president John M Monteiro and treasurer Roshan Chacko. Other core committee members include Stephen Pinto, Andrew Rolphie Sequeira, Clarence Pinto, Mark Rego, Phancho Azavedo, Alwayn Rodrigues, Raphael D’Souza, Melwyn, Elvis and Francis Corderio.
