Bangalore, Jun 23: Goa- The spirit never fails to enthrall anyone who visits this place and Goans worldwide carry this spirit along with them. Apart from its beautiful beaches Goa definitely spells music, dance and good food.

And for all those Goans settled away from home, June 20, 2009 was an evening to remember. 'Think Goa, Live Goa' - a cultural and fun evening organized by the Karnataka Goan Association (KGA) had Goans from all over Bangalore come together to celebrate the spirit of their culture.

"This event has been specially organized for our members and their families and friends to get a feel of Goa right here in Bangalore," said Arun Da Silva, president, Karnataka Goan Association.

As in the past, The Catholic Club, Bangalore this year too played host to the party. The objective for 'Think Goa Live Goa' was to give members a taste of their homeland.

Caterers specialized in Goan delicacies were specially arranged to give the guests the best of Goan cuisine. Chicken Xacuti, the famous Goan Pork Sorpotel, Sannas, traditional prawn curry and boiled rice had the most number of takers.

Goa's famous band Fortes Trio made the crowd dance to some great music. But the Konkani Goan Mando definitely stole the show. The members also put up dances that portrayed Goa's cultural and art forms.

KGA established way back in the 1970s continues to bind the Goan community in Bangalore and has many events throughout the year that cater to all age groups. The Goan Carnival and the World Goa Day Celebrations are some of the most sought-after ones. Arun added that 'Think Goa Live Goa' signifies the closing of the cultural year for the association. The party ended with fun prizes being given away. An evening of drink and dance, fun and frolic - Viva Goa!!!
