Dubai: Joel Saldanha Elected President of Konkan Yuva

Dubai, Jun 21: KONKAN YUVA, the youth wing of St Mary’s Konkani Community Dubai, established on the 4th February 2005 for the youth of the Konkani speaking community at St. Mary’s Church Dubai has completed 4 successful years under its motto of “HOME AWAY FROM HOME”.
This year, the new office bearers were chosen on the 5th of June 2009 and the result was yet another dynamic team of individuals who have promised to take the Konkan Yuva to much greater heights than it already is.
As always every step of the Konkan Yuva has always been taken under able guidance of its Spiritual Director – Fr Frederick D’souza. This year’s members for the Konkan Yuva Core Committee (KYCC) include:

Rev. Peter (Parish Priest) has been selected to head the parish in Doha (Qatar) and would be due to proceed on his next mission soon. The new KYCC also took this opportunity to thank Fr. Peter for his guidance and support to the Konkan Yuva by presenting a token of our appreciation.
Fr. Peter was very happy with the involvement of the Konkan Yuva in activities the Church organized and thanked the Konkan Yuva for its active participation. He also advised on having a lot more active members within the group and to ensure that the youth are always involved in doing ‘good’ at all times.
