State Cabinet Wipes out Cases against Reddy Brothers

Bangalore, Jun 19 (DHNS): In a controversial decision, the State cabinet on Thursday reportedly decided to withdraw several criminal cases pending before various courts against the associates of ‘powerful’ Reddy ministers from Bellary, including the destruction of historical Sunkalamma Devi temple near Obalapuram.

A criminal case was slapped against the supporters of Bellary ministers for destroying a two-century old temple near Oblapuram by using explosives on September 3, 2006. The temple was allegedly destroyed to carry out iron ore mining. The incident had evoked sharp reaction from the Opposition parties which had demanded that the CM should drop the Ministers.

The cabinet, however, decided to withdraw the case. It is learnt that both the Law department and the top police brass had raised objections against withdrawal of the cases.

Sources said withdrawal of these cases was part of the wish list of the Bellary ministers. Now the CM has fulfiled one of their demands.

Besides, sources said, cases booked against the supporters of Bellary ministers under the IPC section 143, 147, 120, 295, 436 and 506 have also been taken back. Actually, the JMFC, Bellary, had issued warrants to a few of those involved in these cases. Some of these cases were at hearing stage.

Sources said the Bellary SP too was against the withdrawal of the cases as they were pending before the Court.

Even the top police brass and the law department too had expressed the same opinion stating that the law should take its own course and there is no public interest in this.

However it is learnt that the Home Minister insisted that they should be withdrawn, on which the cabinet should decide.

Following this the matter was moved to the cabinet and a decision has been taken to  withdraw them.

Similarly other cases

Ten cases pertaining to the violations of code of conduct during the assembly elections- 2008 in several police stations of Bellary including seven in Cowl Bazaar Police Station (includes the seizure of Rs 2, 82, 500 cash, and gifts ) and three in Brustpet Police Station have also been withdrawn. Some cases filed during Bellary CorporationElections too have been withdrawn, despite opposition from Law department.

A case against Raitha sangha leader Kurubur Shantha Kumar leading farmers to Vidhana Soudha filed by Sheshadripuram Police has been withdrawn. Case against farmers of Indi for attacking tahsildhar’s office for not providing support price for sugar cane growers too has been decided to be withdrawn by the Government.

A case against BJP workers for  voilating code of conduct during the assembly polls at Kantheshwara village in Karkala in Dakshina Kannada district on may 6, 2008 has also been decided to be withdrawn.

What is the authority this cabinet has to wipe off the criminal cases!!!!!?? There is a judicial system to look into that. If all these cases were framed then also strict action shall be taken on those file false cases, as the investigation has to spend lot of man power to prove them wrong or right.

Every Country and every State\Province has Laws which governs the Law and Order. The laws are universal and applies to everyone irrespective of thier social status. However rules are different - like in the Gulf, you have one rule for Asians, one for White Skin and another one for Local Arabs. You never see Laws there! It looks like Yeddi has forgotten Democracy and is creating Mobocracy by ruling the State with Rules. What a sad affair! I dread to think - what will become of Karnataka in the hands of Yeddi.

A cold blooded murder of democracy. The arrogance of power and money has made Yeddy and Achary to float their values in the gutters of Bangalore. Shame on those people of Karnataka who gave power to these power mongers. Come on Yeddy and BJP supporters, stand up and salute the magnanimous courtesy of the cabinet for trashing the criminal cases against Reddys!!! Do we still require police department, judiciary etc in Krnataka????

This will make people think that, with money we can buy the court, law & regulations etc. RSS is talking about the temple destroyed by a anti-nationalist (gajni or gori). But, illegal destroy of the 2 century old temple in bellary is not a issue for RSS. Citizens of india. Be careful!

The Reddy brothers had robbed the national mine wealth with the political affiliation. Later shamelessly donated a portion of the ill-gotten wealth of 4.2 crore worth daimond-studded ornament to Thirupathi Temple. You think by donating a portion of the loot will wipe out all your sin. Only corrupt political party can wipe out all your criminal records but God will not forgive you even after the offered of the bribe. With those crores of the loot you got from the illegal mining would have developed few dozen villages, could have provided drinking water to another few dozen villages & lending of soft loan to farmers would have stopped the farmers from committing suicide.

BJP, I am not sure why hell bent on making fun of itself and its own supporters. Its decisive leader could not decide whether to stick to resignation as opposition leader or continue. Finally continued. BJP as principle stood against dynasty politics, with one chance relatives are all around in power corridors. BJP once resembeled Atals image in terms clean ethics, no longer. It resembled Hindutva, today its own leaders are searching for meaning for Hindutva. BJP must reinvent itself and urgently to find itself relevant in National Politics & the first step could be get rid of Yuddi & Reddy - bring in Ananth Kumar.

BJP''s main agenda for last Lokh Sabha election was Building Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Here Reddy family ministers of today''s BJP ruled Govt in Karnataka accused of destruction of historical Sunkalamma Devi temple. Now we came to know today, same BJP Govt. has withdrawn the criminal cases including destruction of historical Sunkalamma Devi temple against these criminal accused BJP ministers. Should we think that, BJP''s Hindutva agenda is confined only to RAM TEMPLE and not any other temple (Historical or Non Historical). Where is so called moral police SRI RAMA SENE activists today?, Is their moral policing only reserve for Pub attacks and ladies wearing western dresses?

Wow, this is an open invitation to all criminals By BJP. “No matter what crime you commit, come and join BJP, fight election and we will withdraw all criminal cases against you and your protection is our first priority no matter what.” This is what BJP is announcing today by withdrawing the criminal cases against the Reddys. It is clear that our CM and HM are trembling in front of the Reddys which is very much acceptable to all the citizens of Karnataka. The day is not very far that the state of Karnataka will be ruled by the criminals.

Is this nirnayak government. The criminals are encouraged and law and judicial system is totally igonred for personal and political gains. Even the police and law is against this move, how come the Home minister recommended this move. Is it not clear evidence of bias, protectionism and injustice to the people of karnataka. BJP is just acting as a puppet in the hands of these miners.I totally agree that money is important to win elections bit selling your state to retain power is totally unacceptable. Evryone is aware of the proximity of Reddy brothers to YSR. This is a very well planned plot which BJP in Karnataka has not yet realised. Please wake up before Bellary is out of our hands.
