Mangalore, Jun 15: Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management, a unit of the Bhandary Foundation signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Information Technology-Allahabad (IIIT-A) on Monday June 15. 

The signing was held at the seminar hall of the Sahyadri Institute in Adyar in the presence of Dr N D Tiwari, Director of IIIT-Allahabad,  Manjunath Bhandary, chairman of  Sahyadri Institute of Technology, and principal and administrator of the institute Dr D L Prabhakara.   

Briefing the media, Dr Tiwari said, “The academic tie-up with IIIT-A will help the students and the faculty get the benefits of an IIIT level education and also help in academic and educational co-operation and to promote mutual understanding between the two institutions.
















 

Describing the benefits of the MoU, Dr  Tiwari said that the benefits include studying with mini-projects during summer and winter vacations as well as participation in the placement pool of IIIT-A besides participating in the campus selection at Allahabad.  

He added that the faculty members can attend development programmes such as workshops, seminars, conferences, conducted at the Allahabad campus.  

Expressing happiness over his visit to the Sahyadri Institute, Dr Tiwari said that the institute would achieve a top place within five years and added that this was the first in Karnataka state to enter into an MoU with IIIT-A.  

“The institution has qualified and experienced professionals and senior faculty members of whom many are from reputed institutions like IITs, IISC, and NITs . The institute is going to achieve academic excellence with many plans to tie-up with premier institutions like IITs, IIIs, and NITs”, said Manjunath Bhandary.  

He also said that it was a dream came true to sign the MoU.  

The IIIT-A was ranked 8th in the country after the IIT’s in India and also ranked 11th by Nasscom-Dataquest and placed fourth in placements list by the same. 

This institution was established by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India, and has deemed university status from the government. It has collaborations with premier institutions and organizations across the  world.
