Puttur: Seminar on cyber crime held at St Philomena PU College

Puttur, Jul 27: The Computer Club of St Philomena PU College on July 26 organized a talk on 'Cyber Crime' at Silver Jubilee Memorial Hall.

The president, Fr Vijay Lobo, principal, St Philomena PU College, Puttur said that computers play a dominant role in today's world. So, we should be careful while using computers because it has both advantages and disadvantages.

The resource person, Nagaraj K, asst professor of Computer Science and Engineering VCET, Puttur said that prevention is better than cure. He said that students should spend time and care for their family members. He also said that it is good to use smartphones but they should not be an addiction. The use of smartphones can cause headache, neck/backpain, sleep problems, depression and anxiety. He also informed the students about various forms of cyber crime and the laws to be taken against it.

The programme was coordinated by Anil Kumar K and Yashaswini, convenors of Computer Club.

Sarosh (II PCMC) welcomed the gathering. Kashyap (II PCMC) proposed the vote of thanks. Trupti (II SCBA) compered the programme.
