Mangalore, Mar 14: ‘Nartana Kalalaya’, Kozhikode staged ‘Jyothirgamaya’, a Malayalam play, at Kalaangann as part of the ‘Ranga Souharda’ festival of dramas on Saturday March 14.

This is the third one of the six dramas in the festival which started on Thursday March 12.

P Narayanan, secretary, Kerala Samajam, was the chief guest of the function, who praised the effort by ‘Mandd Sobhann’ in establishing harmony in our beloved land through theatre.
























 

He sprinkled red colour and inaugurated the day’s event.  “There are almost 1-lac Malayalis in Mangalore and one of the main aims of the Kerala Samajam is to work for communal harmony in the region”, said Narayanan.

Damu Nartan, director of the drama, Rony Gomes, treasurer, Mandd Sobhann, and Eric Ozario, Gurkar, Mandd Sobhann, were present on the dais. 

Rony Crasta, secretary, Mandd Sobhann, compered the programme.

On Sunday March 15, Konkani play ‘Ratnagiricho Sardar’ will be staged by Udenti Kalakaar, Cascia. This play won first prize in the All India Daiji Dubai Konkani Drama Competition held in Mangalore, recently.

Beary’s Melodies, Mangalore, will stage ‘Kunjali MBBS’ on Monday March 16 while the final drama will be presented by Shristi Kodagu Ranga, Ponnampet, on Tuesday March 17.
