Mangalore, Jan.17: Ex- prime minister and JD(S) supremo  Deve Gowda  said in  Suratkal, that minorities in the state  are being  treated as second class citizens under  the Bharathiya Janatha Party rule.

Gowda spoke to the media persons  in Suratkal after visiting the families of those who lost their lives in separate attacks,  in Kinnigoli and Katipalla.

He blamed the ruling party in the state of not having any respect or regard for the minorities. "Minorities in the state have been facing attacks repeatedly," he pointed out. He also accused the government of implementing its hidden agenda and described the attacks as a part of executing this agenda.

He urged the government to provide   proper security to the minorities. State government should not show discriminatory attitude among citizens and should desist from giving differential treatments, he advised.

The  attack and  the stabbing  incident  that occurred recently in  Kinnigoli and Katipalla  should be probed impartially  without any  bias, he demanded.

Gowda handed over  financial aid to  murder victim Mohan Ranya’s  family  at Kinnigoli and to Samsheer alias Tanzeem’s family members  at Katipalla near Surathkal, at the rate of Rs. 15,000 and Rs. 25,000 respectively.

Operation Lotus is end game of BJP:

`The operation Kamala executed  by  the Bharathiya Janatha Party(BJP)  will boomerang on that party and checkmate its existence in the state, Gowda predicted.

He admitted that the BJP through its Operation Kamala, has strengthened the party base in the state, but felt that soon that party  will  suffer from it as  it will soon finish them off .

JD(S) is   going  strong and  it is  going  to fight Loksabha  election by entering into an understanding with the  left parties, he revealed.
