Billava Association Opens Suburban Unit at Nallasopara – Virar

Mumbai, Jan 13: Billava Association president Jaya C Suvarna inaugurated the Nallasopara – Virar unit of the Association located at the basement floor of Darshan Building, near Sri Ganapati temple here on Sunday January 11 evening, by cutting the ribbon.

Jaya C Suvarna presided over the stage programme held on Sunday evening in this connection, at Sai Baba Mandir auditorium, Nallasopara (West).  Virar – Nallasopara Karnataka Sangh president Shankar B Shetty participated as  the chief guest.

In his address, Shankar Shetty said that Jaya Suvarna has been the ace leader of the Billava community throughout the country.  His ideals of social service should be followed for achieving development of all classes of the society.  Billava brethren are also actively involved with the affairs of Nallasopara – Virar Karnataka Sangh, and this is the time to work together with a sense of universal brotherhood, sinking differences of caste, creed and financial standing, he felt.



Shetty also pledged his whole hearted support for all the activities of Nallasopara – Virar unit of Billava Association.

Jaya C Suvarna, in his presidential address, said that the Billava Association has been functioning in the footsteps of the ideals set forth by Sri Guru Narayana.  Billava Association has been striving for empowering the community brethren economically, educationally and socially in the metro.  Moreover, Billava Association Nallasopara – Virar branch would work to strengthen the brotherhood among the people of various faiths, castes and creeds with the mission of rushing for each other's help in times of need, he added.

Abishek Builders and Developers proprietor Vasant N Poojary, local social worker and building contractor Shankar K T, Poojary Constructions and Land Developers proprietor Bhaskar Poojary and local hotellier Jagannat N Rai were the guests of honour.

Bharat Co-Operative Bank (Mumbai) Limited chairman Vasudev R Kotian, Billava Association vice president Y Nagesh, 'Akshaya Billava' monthly honorary editor M B Kuckiann, honorary treasurer Bhaskar V Bangera, Billava Association Nallasopara – Virar president Jagdish R Amin, vice presidents Vasant N Poojary and Dayanand C Kunder, honorary secretary Srinivas G Kotian, honorary joint secretary Anand C Kotian, Sadanand A Karkera and others were present at the dais.

Mohini Suvarna rendered the prayer.  Honorary general secretary Nityanand D Kotian compered the programme.
