Udupi, Nov 8:  Jayasrikrishna Parisara Premi Samiti president  Thonse Jayakrishna Shetty  in a press conference held here,  has urged Nagarjuna Thermal Power Plant coming up near Padubidri in the district, to earmark a portion of the power generated in its unit, exclusively for the consumption of Udupi and Dakshina Kannada  districts, so that the citizens of the district are spared of the problem of frequent power cuts. He also informed that a similar demand was also placed before the state energy minister K S Eshwarappa.

A memorandum containing the above demand was handed over to K S Eshwarappa during his visit to participate in 'Chandika' oblation held at Kollur Mookambika Temple.
